I’ll test it out. We have customers that still ask for it after years - they just became so used to squared key systems it’s hard to get past for them.

There would be some feature loss on things. You would also end up channelizing your trunks for this to work. Plus you need phones that support SLA because it seems to change some functionality at the phone level too.
The one the to remember is a key system with 6 lines is a system with just 6 lines. 1 call per line inbound or outbound and no internal calling.

I get it. I hate it, but customers have been asking me SLA for 15 years and I’ve just ignored it lol
A while back, someone mentioned that the shared line appearance would be easy to modify as shared call appearance. Unfortunately, no one ever provided any documentation or further description.
My preference would be shared call appearance vs. shared line appearance if that could work with Asterisk.
Shared line would probably be good for small businesses like a restaurant or small office but it is not feasibly scalable for a large installation with a lot of lines.
