I am new to Tango, but have been using FreePBX for a while. After installing from RC24 ISO, there is no system admin module listed on the admin tab. I was used to the “bare bones” module that could be enhanced for a cost. Where are those functions now? Or, am I blind as a bat and missing it. Please help educate me.
There is no sysadmin support in TangoPBX.
I also noticed the firewall was missing. Should I assume that TangoPBX uses the operating system for all of the system functions? I don’t want to belabor this point, but I was using SysAdmin as a crutch for some tasks.
Yes, the firewall module depends on sysadmin, so at present, there’s nothing in TangoPBX that provides the same/similar feature set as the FreePBX Firewall module.
I would dare say systemadmin (and with it firewall) should work fine BUT It won’t be supported by Sangoma and any issues you have will likely be ignored. So “not supported” doesn’t mean “won’t work” just know that you may be on your own with it.
Which functionality are you missing, or is it just because of the "firewall” module?

I used the crutch of sysadmin to set up backups, email relay, and firewall. But if we must move forward without them, then we shall. It will take me a bit longer to learn the Ubuntu way.
