so today I have bought the ClearlyIP Anywhere Module for Freepbx and I have a strange problem:
I have configured the app to use a DYNDNS Service over No-IP.com to reach my Freepbx. In my Router the Ports 2267,5060 and the RTP Ports are forwarded to my FreePBX Server.
From my Mobile Phone everything works great when I am NOT in my local Wifi.(Mobile Data only) If I are connected to my local Wifi the ClearlyIP App does not register over the DynDNS anymore.
Is there a solution for that ? I can’t use my WAN IP because it changes sometimes.
Normally this is because your router does not support “hairpinning”. This is when you are on the local network, and the device (Clearly Anywhere) is told to go to a public IP, so it goes out your router only to come back in the same router.
Split DNS is the best fix for this, which means if you have your own DNS server, you can tell it locally to go to the private IP instead of the public IP.
You can also see if there is a setting for hairpin in your router/modem.
Not an answer to your question, but we’ve all tried to maintain a system behind a dynamic IP and no matter how infrequently it changes, it’s still an ongoing source of grey (gray?) hair. Dynamic IP is on my personal untouchable list along with FXO ports and f*xing.
